Matcha Mint Julep Cocktail


Matcha can enhance any cocktail and this is one of my faves. This Matcha Mint Julep recipe you is from the and is a must espeically for Matcha and Bourbon fans. For an extra minty hit and an undertone of liquorice why not try with UKIYO Liquorice & Mint matcha available here.



2 tsp (2gr) Matcha powder
¾ cup water
½ cup fresh spearmint
2 tbsp sugar
1-2 tbsp fresh lemon juice (depending on taste)
½ cup bourbon
Mint leaves to garnish

  • Place 2tsp (2gr) Matcha powder in a small bowl and add enough water to form a smooth paste.
  • Slowly add the rest of the water whisking to until no lumps remain.
  • Add your sugar and mint to the cocktail shaker and combine with the muddler to release their wonderful flavours.
  • Add the Matcha mix, bourbon (we used Bulleit Bourbon) and a tablespoon of lemon juice.
  • S H A K E !
  • Strain the cocktail over ice.
  • Top with a sprig of mint, serve and enjoy!
